Scorch :D

"Acutally..."

submission: Scorch :D

...this made perfect sense to me. It's...logical, somehow.

Great work on the faces. Anti really looked concerned, while all of scorch's expressions fit when used. The moment before she "jumps" seems just a tad longer than it needs to be. Not enough to take a point away, though.

On a side note, I did have Anti-bat 2.0 favorited, but switched it to this. Limited fave amount left, so I chose the animation that I prefered more. I mentioned this here in case you were alerted to this oddity.

I did look through your art gallery, but strangely didn't find much scorch as a kitty there. Any plans to remedy that? If not, that's okay. I just thought I'd ask.

"I see you finished it..."

date: July 12, 2009

...and put my name in the credits as well. Had I known that you would do that, I would have told you to use my other username, "Cerebreus" (since that account name is more associated with me than this one). That's my fault, so don't worry. Besides, seeing either name was a surprise for me.

I did find a few problems, unfortunately.
---On the loading screen, it looks like you drew a thumb where it shouldn't be. Check you left hand and compare it to the screen. I could be mistaken, though.(This isn't one of the problems; I was just listing it first since it is first).
---a subtitles error (it should be fret instead of afraid)
---a noticible skip during the Y.M.C.A. song. (not sure how to deal with it; let's talk about it)
---work on ending the songs at a good time, like IMMEDIATELY after a section or medley. The last note at the end of the german song seemed awkward. You should have cut that out (leave it be, if you wish. It's just a suggestion).
---certain things, like the drops of rain and the lines on the waterfall, look more like they're moving back and forth than moving. I have a suggestion that might help a bit that doesn't involve animating each piece separately. I'm not sure if it can be done (since I don't know what you're using), but it might be possible. Send me a note when you can.

The things I mentioned aren't enough to take away points, so that's why this gets the rating I gave it.

Great job on this.

Dark Cut 3

"Criticism and suggestions..."

submission: Dark Cut 3
date: November 13, 2008

This is a great game, but I do find problems with it.

First off, I do have to agree with Skull-manner on some things. The game seems rather easy and there is little of the shock, realism, and tension of the first two games. Just so you know, by realism, I mean the details that make it seem real.

While I like the fact you didn't want to make the setting sterile and safe, it unfortunately does seem too easy and less tense.

Gameplay criticism:

1. I was a bit irked that I have to go to the armor games website to perform one surgery. I want to play the complete game here. I can understand leaving it out if it increased the file-size too much, but as of now it seems like it was promotion of the site. If you said why it was cut, I would appreciate it.

As of now, I have not completed the game because I have to go to armor games to play the whole thing.

2. In surgery two, the spot where you sedate the patient is not even on the patient's body.

3. I like the interface and hud of the game, but the cursor needs to be a different color or altered in some way to make it easier to keep track of. I had trouble telling if I was going over the right areas.

Try repositioning the cursor on the tools. If it was on the tip of the wipe, it would make things easier, as having it in the middle was awkward.

That's it for now. If I find other problems, is it alright if I send them to you in a PM, since I can't edit my review or write a new?

I do have suggestions of what games you can do next.

1. Maybe a caveman surgery game. I know the likelihood of such a thing is slim, but it would be interesting, methinks.

2. Three words: arcane bomb squad. Not the world of warcraft item, but rather bombs of a magical nature, each with a different effect. I got the idea from the ananachronists game, but I think the way it was done in the game could have been more. It's excellent for a surgery-type game. You could let players intentionally let the bombs go off to see the results (like a bomb that changes people into animalistic humans or changes the time period), maybe even having the results of "failure" affect the gameplay or setting.

I'd be willing to help you flesh out these ideas or help come up with new ones.

I know I shouldn't be promoting ideas like this, but I thought you might be interested in the ideas. Also, I'm hoping some one will read the ideas and make a game themselves. I'm more interested in seeing someone make those types of games than getting credit for the ideas (and the second one was from someone else).

Let me know if I can PM you about problems with your games or new ideas. If you do not want me to give ideas but talk to you about your games only, I shall try to comply.

I hope to hear from you soon. No matter what, I am glad you made these games. Even if you don't listen to me, I am thankful for the games you have made.

Thanks.
